January was a big month for home appliances in Las Vegas. CES might be the largest and most well-known consumer electronics convention, but appliances are fairly new to the show. CES featured a host of large HA manufacturers including Samsung, LG, and Whirlpool, and Bosch. While there were some amazing things happening at CES, the real highlight for appliance enthusiasts, like myself, was the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS). This year, KBIS co-located with the International Builder’s Show expanding the focus to incorporate construction and building in addition to home design. At KBIS, top manufacturers including LG, Electrolux, Bertazzoni, KUCHT, Liebherr, Miele, Viking Range, and more showcased their latest products, design, and technology.
Who’s Who and What’s New in Home Appliances
New to the show this year was LG, exhibiting their new Signature Kitchen Suite, a line of luxury kitchen appliances equipped with premium features including smart connectivity. With both CES and KBIS happening at the very beginning of the year, we have a great opportunity to learn more about the exciting new products and latest features we can expect to find in the market going forward. I love when I get to see a product that launched at one of the shows make its retail debut!
Danielle’s Dream House
CES and KBIS are the perfect place to start planning your dream home and Industry Analyst Christine Boersing made sure to bring back plenty of brochures and photos for me to do just that. Here are a few of my favorite things…
Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator
This Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator from CES features a 21.5” full HD LCD resolution screen that’s WiFi enabled and allows you to share content, manage food items, entertain through media or music, and would likely save my iPad from it's impending doom in the kitchen.
Electrolux Perfect Steam Washer
This 'Best of KBIS' award winner Perfect Steam Washer with LuxCare Wash and SmartBoost from Electrolux features a unique system that infuses water with detergent in a special chamber before the cycle begins for particularly difficult stains, something that is a constant battle in my house thanks to my adorable but clumsy dog, Charlie.

La Cornue Pink Range
Last but not least, I love this perfectly pink La Cornue range. I need it. A girl can dream right?
