If you've been keeping up with our blog, you've read articles on how we use Agile Scrum with a Distributed Dev Team and which Agile Ceremonies we stick to here at gap intelligence. In the world of Five Ws and one H, these blogs provide great insight into the Why, the What, the Where, the When, and the How, but they only touch in a broad sense on the Who. Today, I'd like to introduce a few of the development team Whos, coming at ya all the way from Uzbekistan. Because as they say in Uzbekistan, Писать код без команды – плов без соли!

Tell me about your career path and how you got to gap intelligence.

While being a student, I dreamed of working in a big company where I could develop innovative software applications using modern technologies. Like many developers, my career began with small websites and e-stores. Over time, projects on which I worked have become more complicated, but a desire to program grew. My experience and my knowledge helped me get a job in the company of my dreams.

What would you do if you weren't a software developer?

It is difficult to imagine, but I think I could be a school teacher in mathematics.

What do you like to do outside of work?

We speak Russian, not Uzbek (I really don't know the Uzbek language). Most of the population of Uzbekistan knows and speaks Russian. It's the influence of the Soviet Union and it is getting smaller every year.

What is one thing you've learned in your time at gap intelligence?

I think I learned how to work in a team, I learned what it means to be a member of the team. It's really cool to work in a team whose members are located in different countries and speak a different language. Great experience!

Tell me about your career path and how you got to gap intelligence.

I graduated from the Plekhanov Russian Economic University in 2012 and had short internship in a bank where I realised that I don't want to work in the field of economics. I had a small experience as developer while studying and decided to change profession and got a job in a local company as a developer. Then for several years I worked as a freelancer on Russian companies remotely. Not so long ago I heard about vacancy in gap's UZ office and got the job :).
