We here at gap intelligence are passionate about our values. We are, after all, a Values-led Company, and we strive to contribute to something bigger than ourselves. One way we do that is through what we call 3Ts – Time, Treasure & Talent. Throughout the year our 3Ts committee organizes events and gives gappers an opportunity to give back to our community. We’ve done local beach clean-ups, doggie adoption events, help at the food bank and homeless shelters, various charity walks, blood drives, and more! We even host a charity golf tournament called Drives for Rides each year where every single gapper gets involved to help support The Emilio Nares Foundation!
Traveling Stories
Coming up on Saturday, March 11, 2017, we are partnering with Traveling Stories, an organization that helps kids fall in love with reading by the 4th grade! We will be helping out at the City Heights Farmer’s Market. Kids visit the StoryTent, pick out a book that interests them, and then read it out loud to a volunteer. The volunteer asks engaging questions that help the child build reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. If a child doesn’t know how to read yet, the volunteer will read to them. Kids earn a Book Buck for every book they read. The bucks can be used toward a variety of prizes. Through this Book Buck system, kids learn basic financial literacy skills. The focus of the StoryTent is creating positive experiences associated with reading, developing strong critical thinking skills, and building trust with the families who visit the program. Traveling Stories is a perfect example of one way that we use our Time to enrich our local community.

Drives for Rides
Save the date for May 5, 2017! Following our work with Traveling Stories, our next event will be our flagship event – The 5th Annual Drives for Rides Golf Tournament benefitting the Emilio Nares Foundation (ENF). ENF is a local nonprofit serving low-income, underpriviledged familes whose children are battling cancer in San Diego. Last year gap intelligence raised $43,000 for ENF, ensuring funding for over 2,500 rides to hospitals for treatments – that’s rides for two children for their entire treatment! Get Involved
The diversity of these events ensures that each gapper (and friends of gap) can get involved several times each year. Gappers are encouraged to submit suggestions for events that are meaningful to them. We practice what we preach. We are passionate about being a Values-led Company.
