Gappers are passionate people. We are passionate about each other, our clients, our community, and are inspired by life! To explore more about what drives our team, resident hedgehog, Herbie, sat down with gappers in a series we like to call: Words with Herbs.

Name?

Adrienne Spear

Will you tell us your story on how you ended up at gap intelligence, in San Diego, in data, etc.?

I was born and raised in San Diego. I’ve moved around California a bit, but my heart and soul dwell here. I first interned at gap through a UCSD academic internship during my undergrad studies. I recently finished my master’s and just happened to stumble upon an awesome job listing for a Data Associate position. How it was meant to be!

What values lead you and why?

The values I cherish most in life are patience, compassion, and accountability. These are traits I try to practice every day and I respect them in other people.

What skills are you bringing to gap intelligence, and what skills are you excited to learn?

Think outside the box – skills you have don’t need to be data related, but may end up being more data related than you think!

I think the most important skills I’m bringing to gap intelligence are dedication and drive. I’m most excited to work with this awesome team, but also to hone my Excel skills and gain leadership skills through experience.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be, why, and what would you do with it?

If I had to choose only one superpower (which is hard because I want them all), I would have to choose the most generic response and say the power to fly. Let’s be honest: who doesn’t want to fly? A close second would be bringing people back from the dead – if you can even call that a superpower.

What’s the quirkiest thing about you that you’re willing to admit?

I like to laugh in a high-pitched Julia Child voice to make people giggle and/or feel uncomfortable.

What’s your favorite thing to do in San Diego and why?

I am an active (read: obsessive) softball mom. All day, every day, softball! I also love to walk on the beach, watch the sunset, explore tidepools, and look for dolphins.

Who would win a fight between Spiderman and Batman and why?

Obviously Batman would win because bats eat spiders and spiders are delicious.
