Gappers are passionate people. We are passionate about each other, our clients, our community, and are inspired by life! To explore more about what drives our team, resident hedgehog, Herbie, sat down with gappers in a series we like to call: Words with Herbs.
Name?
Julia DeJesus
How did you get to gap?
I am originally from northern California, but I had been in Nashville the past four years going to school. I knew that once I graduated, I wanted to move back to California, and originally had my sights set on San Francisco. I ended up visiting some friends in San Diego during my last semester and realized that this is where I want to be. I moved to San Diego in June with no plan in mind. I actually interviewed in here about six months before I got hired for a different position. While I didn’t get hired for that position, I learned how awesome this company is and applied again when I saw the open Data Associate position.
What values lead you and why?
Loyalty, honesty, and dedication are extremely important to me. These are values I try to live by. I try to surround myself with people who exemplify these values.
What skills are you bringing to gap and what skills are you excited to learn?
I am bringing drive and enthusiasm to learn. I am so excited to be here and I look forward to gaining experience in Excel and working with a dedicated team.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be, why, and what would you do with it?
I have actually been thinking about this question lately and I finally landed on one that would alleviate a lot of stress in my life. I would have the ability to create a free parking spot in any situation.
What’s the quirkiest thing about you that you’re willing to admit?
I have an obsession with salt. My salt and pepper shakers are both filled with salt.
What’s your favorite thing to do in San Diego and why?
My favorite thing to do in San Diego is go on hikes and walks. The weather is perfect 99% of the time and there are so many different areas to explore.
Who would win a fight between Spiderman & Batman and why?
Spiderman. I asked the four year old I babysit and he seems like a pretty reliable source.
